VOLKSWAGEN TURBO SPECIALISTS

Ah, what joy there must be in owning your own Volkswagen Shop.  If only I had thousands of dollars in tools and the time.....the possibilities are endless.

Our first submission comes from Monts Auto Renditions of Phoenix, Arizona.   Their racing GTI has a 16v engine with a custom fabricated turbo setup.  You want power?  Try 277hp @ 4500 rpm at 15lbs of boost, or 435hp @ 5500 rpm at 22lbs of boost - all with a slightly modified Motronic fuel injection system with the oxygen sensor still in place!  Don't try this at home (oh, okay, go ahead)!

From these pictures, you can easily see the fabrication skills and time that is required for such a project.  Look at the custom exhaust manifold!

Our next entry comes from Eurospeed Ltd.  These folks managed to cram a 20 valve 1.8 turbo into the tight confines of a Rabbit's engine compartment.  As you can see from the pictures, they did a pretty good job!

Here's the vital statistics, straight from Eurospeed's web page:
