There were (at least) two different styles of linkage on the Audi 5000... Depending on the one you have, you may be able to bolt your '84 linkage straight on, (the Audi linkage with the plastic "half-moon" cable guide bolts right up)- or you may have to cut and weld your 84 linkage to make it work. When I did this, I had to do a little welding, as the Audi linkage I had was the one with the two "ball" type of mounts. I'm not sure what you are referring to when you talk of an "electrical warmup connection"- are you talking about the wide open throttle enrichment switch? The Audi has a bigger harness because it has a closed throttle as well as a WOT switch. You can make your connections directly to the Audi WOT switch, as it works the same as the VW unit...
