Todd Graziadei's 1981, Rabbit LS Diesel
Miles on odometer: 138000
Owned for .7 years
Engine:
None
Suspension:
4 new front & rear Sportline springs 1" drop.
Wheels, Tires:
15" Fondmetal Rims with new Pacemark directional tires
Exterior:
Fog lights and expensive paint job (only a few surface rusts were on body when bought-no holes).
Interior:
Pioneer CD 160 watts with 6 speaker system. Hatch cover was removed and 6X9 speakers were placed in a piece of ranger board for better bass sound. Board will be covered with black fabric. Shifter was replaced with a genuine VW woodgrain knob which matches dash face.
Future plans, general comments:
This car will not see anymore winters starting in 2001/2002. This car was absolutely mint inside. I will be removing the carpet and headliner, and replacing them with new black material. Stock seats, door skins and dash will remain in car (Rust colour). Shifter plate will be replaced with a chrome one. Will replace steering wheel with Momo and will also add black genuine VW car mats as well as black seat covers (maybe). Adding black Euro bumpers and front air dam, as well as black wheel well flares, GTI antenna, Euro grill and tinted windows. Hopefully, I will be putting a Turbo Diesel engine in it next spring to get a little more jam out of it, and adding a upper stress bar as well.
Sage advice to others:
My sister-in-law just bought a 1986 Golf GTI tricked out (Sweet). I told her that I could not help her in buying a car unless it was a VW, nor would I be able to be seen with her! She took my advice!
